                       Spelling Assignments

Select four of the choices below for your weekly spelling assignment.  Choose different ones each week.

  • alphabetize the words

  • put the words in a minimum of 15 sentences

  • rainbow words – each word written in a different color

  • tic-tac-toe – minimum of 6 games

  • create a crossword puzzle and solve – puzzlemaker.com

  • write the definition for half of the words

  • word art – wordle.net

  • Pictionary – picture and sentence for half of the words

  • Ransom Words- Cut letters out of newspaper, magazines, or write them out on paper and cut them, then glue them together to build your words.

  • Font-abulous- Type your words in 3 different fonts on the computer.

  • 3 Way Words- Write your words three ways, really big, really small, and in your best handwriting.

  • Word Boxes- Write your words. Then make boxes around each letter. Ex. h a p p y

  • Trace & Spell- Have someone write your words neatly. Trace the words spelling out each letter in the word.

  • ​

  • For the following activities have your parent write a note letting me know you completed the assignment.  

  • Shaving Cream Words- Write your words out in shaving cream. 

  • Tracing Words- Trace your words in sand, on felt, in the carpet, using your finger. 

  • Chalk Talk- Write your words in chalk. You can do this activity with a dry erase board and marker too.
